Anna Strohmeyer
(she/her)
I am a proud Armenian-American, and a new part of the Watertown community. I moved to the East End in early 2025, along with my partner.
My work background is in human rights advocacy, post-Soviet research and crisis response management. I earned my master’s in Russian and Eurasian Studies, with a focus on the historical revisionism. As a first-generation Armenian immigrant, I am excited to learn more about the diaspora community of Western Armenians in the States, including by taking on management of an archival project for Watertown’s own Armenian Mirror-Spectator newspaper.
My passion for volunteering with community organizations in the greater Boston area led me to co-chair the planning for Watertown Pride 2026 and to join the WiW board. I immediately gravitated towards World in Watertown’s mission to foster community-building, uplift marginalized voices, and its focus on making everyone feel welcome. Community members have also taught me the importance of sustainable agricultural practices, which I have been practicing first-hand thanks to a local organic farm partnered with Boston Area Gleaners, a nonprofit donating free produce to our region’s food pantries.
