Our Story
World in Watertown grew out of an unsuccessful effort to establish an official Human Rights Commission in 1999-2000. Since then, World in Watertown has sponsored a variety of human rights-related projects and programs over the years, including the popular Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Unity Breakfast and many other educational events.
Two decades later, the voters of the City of Watertown adopted a new charter that established a Human Rights Commission by ordinance. At present, World in Watertown works hand-in-hand with the Watertown Human Rights Commission and many other community organizations and institutions to advance their shared values.
