Joanna Bridger
(she/her)
I am originally from Washington, DC. I have been in the Boston area since 2003. and moved to Watertown in 2010. I was married in Watertown and have two children in the Watertown Schools (Hosmer Elementary and WMS).
I am a social worker by training and have been engaged in community work both personally and professionally for nearly all my career. In 2021, I started Safety, Hope, & Healing Counseling & Consulting based here in Watertown. I provide counseling, consultation, and training primarily related to trauma and loss. Much of my work is at the intersection of trauma, suicide, and substance use. I am the co-chair of the Greater Boston Suicide Prevention Coalition and on the Executive Committee for the Massachusetts Suicide Prevention Coalition. I am a volunteer Mentor and Champion with the Life is Good Playmaker Project.
I am so proud to call Watertown my home and to work to help make it feel like a truly welcoming home for all of its residents.
